The company was founded in 2021 by Busisiwe Zondo, a passionate entrepreneur driven to address the energy access gap in Township of Katlehong, East of Gauteng. The idea for Mazondo Gas was born out of Busisiwe's personal experience growing up in a township where electricity outages / load shedding and high electricity bill has been the biggest issue and having access to reliable and affordable energy was a significant challenge. After conducting extensive research and engaging with local communities, Busisiwe identified an opportunity to provide sustainable and affordable energy solutions to local households and businesses. With a strong commitment to making a positive impact, Busisiwe established Mazondo Gas to bridge the energy access gap and contribute to the economic development of townships in South Africa
